The best way to discover Lamballe is through a leisurely stroll. Several designated Historic Monuments, alleys, half-timbered-houses ... and so many details tell the story of its inhabitants. City of the Horse, Lamballe and its National Stud Farm are home to the Breton Post Horse (Postier Breton), a unique and remarkable draught horse.
In the most stunning half-timbered house of the historical centre of town, a museum is dedicated to painter Mathurin Méheut, born in Lamballe. Floral arrangements enhance the community's heritage. Rooftops are adorned with unique finials, a testimony to a living tradition of pottery in the region, and two museums are dedicated to this craft. Hiking trails and a protected natural site showcase the natural heritage of the area. Not far in the countryside, an 18th century château is host to a variety of events in its beautiful gardens.
